Ddisgrifiad / Description | about the Conservative Conference which was held in Llandudno and the Odeon Theatre and Winter Gardens were used as 'over-flow' halls during the conference. Proceedings were relayed from the main hall to Odeon through a 'closed-circuit' television link and pictured projected to the cinema screen. Voting results were reported through G.P.O telephone link. During this time the theatre was using bannerettes, bulletin boards and quads to draw attention to the entertainment tax extorted by the government and the threat of closure to many cinemas because of it.
