Headlined 'Weekly News £50 prize won by woman reader' - The Weekly News offered this prize for listing in order of merit the 7 winners of the weekly heats of the Lido bathing beauty competition and thereby help to decide to whom the Lido title "Miss Wales 1956" would go. The winner Mrs. N. M. Hammerton, Jasmine, Dundonald Road, Colwyn Bay was presented with a cheque on the stage of the Odeon Theatre Llandudno.
