Ddisgrifiad / Description | This street has served the village as its centre for well on a thousand years. During the nineteenth century the streets were crowded with shops of all descriptions. At the time of the photograph only three shops remained including the shoe shop, J. R. Owen. In the 1940s, the first cottage after J. R. Owen's shop was the home of one of the village shoemakers. In 1861 the village had 21 shoemakers.
In the background of this photograph is the Conwy Vale Hotel.
