| Ddisgrifiad / Description | Bodysgallen was part of the Gloddaeth Estates. It was in the possession of Richard Mostyn, second son of Thomas ab Richard ab Howel. He had one daughter, Margaret, who married Gryffyth Wynne, second son of John Wynne, ab Meredyth of Gwydir. From the terrace there is a beautiful view (over the tops of trees) of Conwy, part of the river and the vast mountains. Bodysgallen is a place of great antiquity and it has been inhabited for many centuries. There are ruins of a small castle hidden in the woods. It was one of those townships called Tre Welyog, not entirely free. The tenants were originally owners of hereditary estates, which were divided and subdivided among their posterity to the fourth descendant, after which they became possessed of branches independent of each other, every one of whom paid for his own land.
The Hall was the Ancient Seat of Caswallon, Sovereign of North Wales, during the fifth century. In the time of Henry VIII, it was owned by Richard Mostyn and has the inscription '1620 R. W. K.' on the exterior.
The Hall is now a country hotel.
