In Kenneth Dibbles book "Nant y Gamer" 1990, it wa stated on page 58 that the "Cottage attached to the tower was demolished in 1978 when the building was redeveloped", this information is incorrect. Information given by the current owner in 2016 states that the cottage he refers to was a loosely fitted extension to the building and it contained the only entrance to the building and contained a kitchen and a pantry area. The stairs to the bedroom above the pantry /kitchen area was via a curved staircase in the round room in the tower. When the building was bought in 1978, the brick building was not demolished it was incorporated into the main structure to make Hen Dwr into a liveable house.
