Ddisgrifiad / Description | It is said that this Church is a Memorial to Jack the Ripper, who murdered six prostitutes in London in 1888. It has been claimed that the Ripper was the Duke of Clarence, heir to the Prince of Wales. The Duke died in 1892, aged 28. The following year work began on the Duke of Clarence Memorial Church at Craig y Don. The Church was completed with the addition of the present Chancel in 1901 and was consecrated by Bishop Alfred George Edwards (who became the First Archbishop of the Church in Wales).
