Ddisgrifiad / Description | The King's Head is where modern Llandudno was conceived in 1846 and also the focal point of the old village which grew astride the simplest path from the sea to the plateau on the Great Orme where there was an extensive Stone Age development. Behind the inn is the old village square, once known as Tanyberllan, (meaning beneath the orchard) but now called Llwynon Gardens. This was the traditional meeting place where statutory and mining proclamations were read, and also newspapers which found their way to Llandudno during the Napoleonic Wars.
