Ddisgrifiad / Description | Llandudno's First Police Station was in Court Street from 1854 until 1915 when it moved to Oxford Street. It was extended in 1961 when it became the Conwy Division Headquarters of the three county Gwynedd Police. In 1968 its jurisdiction was extended to the River Dyfi, in Cardigan Bay, as one of the four Divisional Offices of the new North Wales Police. The brick building opposite the Police Station was built as stables for the 150 horses and varied fleet of the Llandudno Coaching and Carriage Company. The last horse was sold in 1918 to make way for the Royal Blue Buses, who sold out to Crosville in 1931. When Crosville moved out in 1971, the vibrations of closing for the last time brought down a shower of chaff from hidden cavities,53 years after the last delivery of hay.
