Ddisgrifiad / DescriptionThe Hotel already had an indoor swimming pool which was open to residents throughout the week and sometimes open to non-residents at weekends during the winter months with an admission charge.

The Empire Hotel was built in 1854 as the town's first modern block of shops all run by one enterprising 23 year old Denbigh man named Thomas Williams. In his Visitors' Handbook published in 1855, Williams advertised such varied commodities as gunpowder, bathing caps, fresh German leeches, fire insurance, black draught family medicine [a senna-based laxative] and Llandudno Bouquet Perfume.
