| Ddisgrifiad / Description | The photograph shows the old telephone switchboard before it closed and moved to Colwyn Bay. It was opened in an attic of the Clarence Hotel in 1892 at the request of Dr Edward Freer, and later moved to 69 Mostyn St (Melbourne House). Dr Freer lived at Ormeside, Church Walks, and asked the National Telephone Company to provide a service between his home and his Promenade Surgery. The Exchange closed in 1927.
