Ddisgrifiad / Description | Captain Roberts resigned in 1927 after 50 years of service as Pier Master. He lived from 1868-1931 and he died at his home at Ashgrove, Arvon Avenue. He held the Lifesaving Certificate of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution and the Silver Medal of the Liverpool Lifesaving Society. He left a widow, six sons and one daughter. One of his sons, Captain Tom Roberts, succeeded him in 1929. The funeral was held at St. Tudno's Church and Members of the Pier Company Staff were the bearers. Driving the hearse is Thomas Hughes. In the front of the picture with his back to the camera is Roger Williams, the Undertaker. At the near side of the hearse is William Hughes, Georgie Bryan and Nonnie Williams, Pier Company workers.
