The ['Churchills' ?] Nigger Minstrels' appeared in Llandudno from 1873 until WWI. They are pictured standing in front of a tent which was replaced by a theatre. This theatre was destroyed by fire in 1933 and was replaced by the Happy Valley Theatre. Their original pitch is where the drinking fountain in the permanent park stands. The drinking fountain is in commemoration of the 50th Jubilee of Queen Victoria.
