Teitl / TitleEbenezer Chapel, Lloyd Street, Llandudno
Ddisgrifiad / DescriptionEbenezer Welsh Methodist Chapel, next door to the Town Hall, occupied the site of an English Wesleyan Chapel built in 1861 and which moved to Mostyn Street, to become St. John's Church in 1866.
Welsh Methodism was founded at Llandudno at least as early as 1805, when the mining village was made part of the Beaumaris Circuit. Caersalem Chapel was opened in Cwlach Street in 1873 and was sold in 1873, to Richard Evans, of Haydock, to raise the money for the the erection of Ebenezer, which was opened in June 1874. The present Ebenezer was built on the same site in 1909. (The congregation bought back Caersalem in 1889, reopened it as a Mission of Ebenezer in 1892, closed it in 1934 and sold it in 1946).
