Teitl / TitlePont ar Ledr
Ddisgrifiad / DescriptionThis bridge carried the old road to Penmachno across the Afon Lledr. It consists of two elliptical arches, 36' 6" and 13' 6" in span and 14' 6" wide. Both the arches are built of slabs laid in mortar and are outlined with a regulating course of this. The slabs are offset a few inches from the edge of which the rubble wall rises vertically. There is a cut water between the arches and the abutment at the south end of the larger arch across the stream is splayed back. The roadway and parapet rises evenly to their summits above the centre of the larger arch and the parapet is coped with slabs. It is possibe that this bridge was mentioned in 1699 by Edward Llwyd, who ascribed it to the same builder as Pont y Pair.
