Ddisgrifiad / DescriptionDuring the late 18th century and the first half of the 19th century, Trefriw was an important river port handling slate, lead and hides. The records for January 1827 shows that twelve barges took between them 78 tons of slate. On 18 January The Comet arrived at Trefriw with 40 tons of coal from Liverpool. The Quay was rebuilt in 1809 due to the increasing trade.
