Ddisgrifiad / Description | This is a late 17th century cottage, originally thatched and extensively rebuilt after the 19th century. There is a modern tablet in Welsh which states that it was the home of Dafydd Jones (1708-1785), who set up not only the first printing press in the Conwy Valley but probably the first in Wales in 1776. His first book was a sixteen page work in support of the American Revolution. In 1825 the Press moved to Llanrwst. [A collection of works printed by the Press in the 19th century are in Conwy Archive, ref. no. CX37].
