Ddisgrifiad / Description | The present church dated from the 12th to 13th century but the foundations are older and the site has connections with Llewelyn whose Manor was at Trefriw. It is a double aisled church as are the ones at Llanelian yn Rhos and Abergele. The south aisle is the original with the north aisle being added in the early 16th century by Maredudd ab Ieuan who died in 1525. In the 18th century the windows in the south aisle were reconstructed, the door in the north wall of the north aisle was converted into a window and the church was reroofed with slate. There are modern alterations which include the replacement of some of the mullions and window frames and the renovation of the inner slopes of the roofs. The doorway and the south wall of Llanrhychwyn Church are its oldest parts which date from the 11th century and this door remains the only entrance to the Church.
