| Ddisgrifiad / Description | Hywel Coetmor was the owner of Gwydir lands prior to their ownership by the Wynns. Hywel was a Knight in the service of the King and fought in France in the One Hundred Years' War. He was present at the Battle of Poitiers and was killed in Flanders in 1388. It was his descendent Dafydd who sold the Estate of Gwydir to the Wynn family in 1500.
