| Ddisgrifiad / Description | The band was established in 1874 by Henry Platt (son of John Platt, M.P.). Mr. Watts of Caernarfon was the first bandmaster; he had previously been a bandmaster with the Militia. (H. Platt was a Captain with the Royal Caernarfon Militia).
One of the pieces that they first learned was Yr Hen Ganfed. They also learned two marches The Girl I Left Behind and Bonnie Charlie. Elias Jones (on the bass drummer's left) was one of the earliest members. He was born in 1861 and joined at about fourteen years of age. The band once played in a carnival in Bangor having marched from Llanfairfechan. There they played their concert and then marched back to Llanfairfechan.
