| Ddisgrifiad / Description | This hospital in the Conwy Valley has served many generations of elderly people. However, 1987 saw the running down of the hospital in terms of the numbers of patients and staff in a cost cutting exercise. It was proposed that the patients and staff should be moved to the new unit in Llandudno Hospital. However, N.U.P.E. and the staff were against the move and they mounted a 'Save the Hospital' Campaign pointing out that although there would be an alternative service at Llandudno, it was of little consolation to those that lived in the Conwy Valley and had supported the Campaign.
