Ddisgrifiad / Description | The Nurseries were established before World War One by a Mr. Jenkins and were originally called Cefn Nurseries where general vegetables, plants and trees were sold. The Nurseries were sold by Mr. Jenkins in the late 1920s and passed through a number of owners until it was bought in 1947 by Mr. Siertsma.
Mr. Siertsma specialised in vegetable growing, particularly tomatoes and cucumbers, which were sold locally and in the north west of England. There was an acre of greenhouses in the Nursery at that time. Later, Mr. Siertsma expanded to produce roses, trees and shrubs. He sold out to his son, Chris in 1972 who cut back on the vegetable growing side of the business.
