Ddisgrifiad / Description | The Inn stands by the side of the old Roman road from St. Asaph to Caerhun. It dates from about 1600 and was once a coaching inn. By 1987 it had become a private house.
The Roman Road ran from Varae/Vains Roman Fort near or in St. Asaph to Caerhun (Kanovium) a distance of sixteen miles. The road is straight from St. Asaph to Betws yn Rhos but twists from there to Graig Eglwysbach to negotiate the hills: from Graig it dropped to Tal y Cafn where it forded the river to Canovium and then joined the road, either Sarn Helen to Carmarthen or the road to Segontium over the mountains.
