| Ddisgrifiad / Description | The original house was built in 1792. In 1874 it was bought by Henry Davis Pochin from Salford who owned china clay mines. The house was rebuilt in 1875-1876 incorporating part of the previous house of 1792 by W. J. Green. In 1898 a drawing room wing was added. Pochin's grandson, the Second Lord Aberconwy, inherited the property in 1934.
The gardens were begun by Edward Milner for Pochin, whose daughter, Lady Aberconwy did much, but most of the work in the gardens has been done by Henry Duncan McLaren, the Second Lord Aberconwy. The gardens were given to the National Trust in 1949.
