| Ddisgrifiad / Description | Born at Tan y Celyn on 28 April 1795. He went to Trefriw Church School, then to Llanrwst Grammar and then back to work on the farm. At Wrexham Eisteddfod in 1820 he won the Prize with the awdl 'Hiraeth Cymru Am Ei Wlad Mewn Bro Estronawl'. He studied at Aberriw and then at St. Bee's College. He was ordained by the Bishop of Chester and conducted Welsh services at St. Martin's Church, Chester. In 1853 he obtained the curacy in Rhyl. He died in 1855.
N.B.: In 1818 he won the Chair at St. Asaph Eisteddfod with the awdl 'Ar Farwolaeth Y Dywysoges Charlotte' and at Denbigh in 1850 with 'Yr Atgyfodiad'.
