| Ddisgrifiad / Description | He started as a Surveyor of Public Works in Salop and in 1793 as Engineer, Architect, etc. to the Company of the Ellesmere Canal intending to link the Mersey with the Dee. During 1822 to 1826 he built a suspension bridge over the River Conwy. He died in London on 2 September 1834 and is buried in Westminster Abbey.
