Ddisgrifiad / Description | Born at Rowen in 1852, son of a crofter and quarryman. He worked in the quarry at Penmaenmawr when he was young. He was a prominent trade unionist and for a while a member of Plaid Cymru. He was also Chairman of Cymdeithas Y Iaith and Chairman of the Council of Wales. He owned Y Baner and Amserau Cymru for a short while. He wrote two books, autobiographies, Tros y Tresi, 1956 (trans.) From a Rock 1967, Troi'r Drol 1963 (trans.) It Was My Priviledge 1964. He died in 1970.
