Ddisgrifiad / Description | shows the empty stone coffin reputed to be that of Llewelyn the Great in Llanrwst Church. Also the sepulchral effigy of Howell Coytmor ap Gruff. Vachan ap Gruff. The Llanrwst bell is made of bronze with a handle and tongue of iron. On one side of the bell are the letters "EF" and the date "1635", but this date probably relates to when it was repaired. On the wide side are the letters "OFF", which probably is an abbreviation of "offeiriad" [priest]. Information from Heart of Northern Wales by W. Bezant-Lowe, Vol. 1, (1912), Page 398. |
