| Ddisgrifiad / Description | Llanberis and Llyn Padarn were used by many painters working in the "picturesque" and "romantic" tradition. Much of the area was industrialised by the Vaynol Estate for slate quarrying. In 1848 the railway along the shores of Lake Padarn replaced a horse tramway. The slate was taken to Port Dinorwic.
