Derailment of a London & North Western Railway 0-6-0 locomotive at Penmaenmawr, 12th January 1899. This accident was caused by flooding. Part of the track's ballast had been washed away, and high winds had also contributed to the track being damaged. The train, pulled by locomotive number 1418, fell on its side and its two crewmen fell into the sea and drowned. |
