Ddisgrifiad / Description | Endorsed: looking toward Mochdre before any building took place.
View through Nant Sempyr toward Mochdre; on the right is Bryn Dinarth and on the left Bryn Eithin. The fields with cows are where the present Llanerch Road West is situated, coming in from the left alongside the fence. Beyond the field is Tan y Bryn Road and the original railway bridge: note the smithy on the left of the bridge with smoking chimney. The bridge arch shows only two black smoke smudges where trains went under showing that this was the original bridge. This has all dated the photo between 1889 and 1904. Bryn Eithin was built in 1889, and the railway was quadrupled between Colwyn Bay and Llandudno Junction, opening in June 1904, entailing adding another arch to Tan y Bryn bridge and removal of the smithy. Bryn Dinerth is no more; the Horton Drive area now covers the grounds. See also CP107/4/68 and CP107/4/123.
