Ddisgrifiad / Description | The Conwy pageant of 1947 was entitled 'The Torchbearers.' which included a parade of notable figures in the history of Wales with a script by Asa Davies and a short play 'The Betrayal of Richard II by Norman Tucker. A prologue to introduce the story of the Royal Welsh Fusiliers and 'Boys of the Old Brigade' had veterans of 3 wars taking part. One notable ex-serviceman representing a Royal Welsh Fusilier of the South African War was William Davies who was at Mafeking in 1900. The pageant was produced by Bobbie Williams and Eddie Roberts and sponsored by the Conwy & District branch of the British Legion for the benefit of the British Army Benevolent Fund.
