Ddisgrifiad / Description | William J. Harris was born in Holywell the son of Captain and Mrs. T.W Harris. He moved to the Conwy area as a young man and was employed by Messrs. P. & H. Lewis, the timber merchants who had a yard on the Pensarn shore just beyond the suspension bridge where the municipal bowling green is located. In 1899 he married Mary Myfanwy Jones, daughter of William Jones, printer of Conwy and for 27 years worked for the firm which had become R.E. Jones & Bros as a manager of a stationery and book-selling business on Station Road, Colwyn Bay and then as manager of the Colwyn Bay branch office of the newspaper - 'North Wales Weekly News' on Coed Pella Road. He loved the countryside and rambled extensively throughout Caernarfonshire and Denbighshire. He was a member of the Llandudno Colwyn Bay and District Field Club and was a keen member of their microscopy section. He was taken ill suddenly on December 30th 1940 and died that night.
