Teitl / TitlePORTRAIT OF 'ELLIS EVANS. D. D.'
Ddisgrifiad / DescriptionPortrait of gentleman. The portrait is signed, 'Ellis Evans. D. D.' suggesting his proffession was probably that of a vicar. This is backed up by his attire, which appears reminiscent of that of a vicar.

'D.D.' stands for 'Docter of Divinity', theoretically the highest qualification in Britain. Nowadays this qualification is generally given to people who have contributed in some unique way to Theology, as an 'honoury degree'.
