| Ddisgrifiad / Description | 3 incomplete pages of a draft written by a lawyer in defence of the Constable of Conwy Castle, Thomas Salisbury, in answer to a case which was to be heard in Star Chamber. Refers to an affray / fight outside the High Gate of Conway between Robert ap William and Hugh Hookes and their servants; participants included John Hollande, John Alldersley, Rodger Jenkynson, Robert Guyllym, Nicholas Lancastre, William Gruffe or Griffithe, and his wife Jane. The assailants were taken into custody by Thomas Salisbury and his servant David ap Howell. They were kept in Conwy Castle for 6 or 7 days, to be tried before the King's Justice of North Wales at the next Session at Caernarfon. Penlasak is mentioned. Other accusations against Thomas Salisbury include: withholding bedding, food and drink from the prisoners; failing to pay the miller for malt and corn; failing to pay rent to the bailiffs and burgesses.
