Teitl / Title'The Polish Wagon Train'
Ddisgrifiad / DescriptionDiary and photographs (written and taken by Mike Hyle) of a charitable mission "The Polish Wagon Train Fund" to bring food to Poland from Wales. Poland at the time was under Russian control. A Polish exile living in Conwy asked how help could be given in supporting his people. As a result of this brief, on the corner of the street, chat there evolved a small group of six people coming together to deliver practical assistance. In a matter of weeks they had sourced the loan of three vehicles and sufficient funds to deliver 15 tons of food, medicines, babyclothing and other infant needs. This was then delivered to the heart to Poland. The party of people who went to Poland with the supplies included Anne Bitowski, Bruno Bitowski, Brian Gregson, Kazik Macko, Sue Kendall and Mike Kyle.
