| Ddisgrifiad / Description | This series was collected from a variety of sources by Llandudno Library in the [?1970s-1980s] and arranged under headings. It was accompanied by a card index which, for some of the slides, provided background information on the subject matter. It was not exhaustive, however, and some of the slides have been slotted into the original arrangement and are without cards. The original arrangement made by the library has been largely retained and the index number recorded.
The collection includes copies of original photographs already held by the Library (now mainly catalogued as CP2224 and held in Conwy Archive), photographs donated or loaned by members of the public (for which no record of provenance exists) and photographs taken specifically for a project to record the changing environment (possibly a government-funded project c. 1988).
The text from the card index that accompanied the collection as a finding-aid has largely been transcribed in this catalogue. It tends to be rather flowery in its prose style and sometimes includes information for which no reference source exists. |
